The Return to Normalcy Has Begun

Jeremy and I returned from vacation on Tuesday evening, and spent all of yesterday recuperating.  It’s amazing how tired you become from taking a vacation…yesterday was truly a vacation from our vacation! :) I am still editing photos…we took over 700…but you will see some of them up on my photo blog by the end of the week.  I have a creative idea in mind on how I’m going to put all of these photos together; I’m thinking I’ll take an alternate route to the typical photo album…but that blog is for another time!  Here are some lists I created from our trip:

Places we visited
*  Orlando International Airport (MCO)
*  Nassau, Bahamas
*  A military fort [Nassau, Bahamas]
*  The ghetto, middle-class homes, and the wealthy homes [Nassau, Bahamas], which are strikingly different from those in the U.S.
*  Paradise Island [Nassau, Bahamas]
*  CocoCay Island [Bahamas]
*  St. Augustine, FL, our nations oldest city!
*  Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest fort in the U.S. [St. Augustine, FL]
*  Mission of Nombre de Dios [St. Augustine, FL]
*  The Big Cross [St. Augustine, FL]
*  Ripley’s Believe it or Not [St. Augustine, FL], which we couldn’t resist!
*  Cathedral Bastilica [St. Augustine, FL]
*  St. Augustine Beach [St. Augustine, FL], where I surfed the waves for hours

Top 3 Silliest Things I Did
*  Ran scared and screaming off of a fake plank in Ripley’s Believe it or Not, scaring the children around me
*  Napped through the green light I needed to take towards St. Augustine Beach - the woman behind me was NOT happy!
*  Lost my top in the ocean when Jeremy and I were racing and he pushed me down so that he could win (cheater) - I was literally hiding under water as we tried to tie me back up while the waves were attacking us…grrr Jeremy…. :)

Greatest Memories Overall
*  Getting seasick my first night on the ship
*  Jeremy dancing with me in the middle of the corridor on the ship to live music
*  Falling asleep in a hammock on CocoCay Bay with my love beside me
*  Finding a conch shell that was currently the home of a HUGE conch - to which I returned to the bay after taking pictures of it
*  Seashell hunting
*  Jeremy showing up with a rose on formal night and escorting me to dinner
*  Wave jumping in St. Augustine
*  The sunrise at 5:45am on the middle of the ocean with a hot cup of decaf tea and the greatest boyfriend in existence sitting beside me

  1. Sounds exciting! I can’t wait for the pictures and recaps. I don’t blame you for being exhausted!

  2. Sigh… :) Sounds wonderful, Jeni. After reading about your vacation, I’m thinking I might start planning a vacation of our own soon…. :)
